My Camera Panasonic DMC-ZS19
2. "Glass through mode" allows you take pictures through the glass without reflections. I was taking cloud and scenic pictures along the highway at the passenger seat with great success.
3. HDR mode is very handy. It took three pictures in a very rapid fashion, processed, and presented a clear contrast picture. In this way, the person's face is clear and the bright background shows the details as well.
You can argue that one can take three pictures (+ 2 ev, 0 ev, -2 ev) and use Photoshop or Photomatix softwares to produce a HDR picture afterward. Yes! You can. I want to see my HDR pictures on-site so I can take another one if the picture is not to my liking. If you take a lot pictures during the shooting session, it will take you long time to process the HDR pictures.
4. Manual modes (PSAM): It did what the names suggested. You can use shutter-priority (S), aperture priority (A) to control field of depth. Once I was bored in the passenger seat during the night and I tried to use manual mode to take a picture of the lights of the car, street lamps, houses, brake lights, etc and the results are great.
I lowered ISO to 100 in order to use long exposure ( between 2.5 to 5 sec) and lower the aperture to f8. Wait for the area with a lot of light, for example, toll booth, hold the camera steady, and told the driver (nicely) to drive steadily without hitting the pot holes or bumps.
5. Macro mode: I can take flower pictures close with macro mode and I can control field of depth with aperture priority mode. The picture is much more clearer than before.
These are the "secrets" of my pictures. You can do it as well. Let's share the pictures of the world (http:500px.com/mitchell820).
